What you'll need
- Cold water
- White vinegar
- Dish soap
- Hydrogen peroxide (optional)
- Table salt
Common mistakes to avoid
- ✗Never use hot water — berry pigments (anthocyanins) set permanently with heat.
- ✗Don't rub — it spreads the highly pigmented juice.
Pro tip
Boiling water poured from height can blast through berry stains on fabric — stretch the stained area over a bowl and pour from a kettle from about 30cm above.
⚠ Warning
Hydrogen peroxide can bleach dark fabrics. Test on a hidden seam first.
