Candle Wax

Wax is a solid hydrophobic compound that bonds to fabric by physical entrapment, not chemical bonding. The solution: freeze it to make it brittle, then use heat (ironing) to transfer it to absorbent paper.

Frequently asked questions

Why use an iron to remove wax?

Wax melts at low temperatures. The iron re-melts it so it can be absorbed by the paper. This transfers the wax cleanly out of the fabric rather than dissolving it.
