What you'll need
- Cornstarch or baking soda
- Dish soap (very small amount)
- Leather conditioner
- Soft cloth
Common mistakes to avoid
- ✗Never saturate leather — it dries and cracks.
- ✗Avoid harsh solvents.
Pro tip
Leather absorbs oil readily — act fast. Cornstarch left overnight draws out a surprising amount even from set oil stains.
⚠ Warning
Excessive moisture will damage leather. Use barely damp cloths and condition thoroughly after treatment.
